From Pre to Post 16 Diagnostic Assessment Training
Trained to assess under-16s and want to assess adults? This three-hour live online course bridges the gap, and lets you join the Workplace Needs Assessor course at day two.
About the transition course
Assessing an adult is not the children’s process with a few different tests. Adults present differently, through masking, compensatory strategies, and their work and education history, and the tools and recommendations you use have to reflect that.
This course prepares specialist assessors who are confident with children and young people to extend their practice into adult diagnostic assessment, in line with SASC 2025 guidance. It is non-accredited, and it lets you skip straight to day two of the Workplace Needs Assessment (WPNA) course.
The day at a glance
An optional, free introduction to the Workplace Needs Assessor course. No obligation to continue.
Children vs adults, additions to your test battery, and writing adult recommendations.
Go straight to day two of the WPNA course (next cohort 12 November) towards L4 with OCN London.
What the training includes
Children vs adults
How dyslexia, dyscalculia and other SpLDs present differently in adults, and how background gathering and rapport-building change.

Recommendations for the workplace, higher education and everyday life, referencing the Equality Act 2010 and Access to Work.
